MDF‑to‑IDF Vertical Backbone Links: Up to 220m links over installed OM1/OM2 MMF. EDC runs on host EX/QFX PHY; LRM module itself is linear without on‑module EDC. Mode‑conditioning patch cord required for OM1/OM2.

Service Provider & Router Aggregation: 10G MMF aggregation for MX line cards (MIC‑3D‑10XGE‑SFPP) on legacy OM1/OM2 fiber. Designed for multimode only, not SMF‑qualified; short‑range physical light coupling on OS2 SMF may occur with no performance guarantee. Use 740‑021309 (10GBASE‑LR) for SMF. MX prefers SFPP‑10GE‑LRM EEPROM; EX‑coded 740‑021310 forwards traffic normally but may generate info‑level syslog.

Security Gateway Optical Uplink: 10G MMF uplink for SRX380/1500/4100/4200/4600 over OM1/OM2/OM3 MMF ≤220m. Not qualified for SMF; select 740‑021309‑LR for single‑mode. Zero Junos syslog requires SRX‑SFP‑10GE‑LRM coded hardware.
